KSWS has planned to take a Jatha of Sikligar Sikhs to Delhi and Amritsar Sahib to visit historical places. A Jatha of 25 Sikhs of Bangalore will be reaching Delhi on 27th october 2010 at 10.40 a.m. by Karnataka Express and will leave for Amritsar on 29th morning. After that they are going to visit the historical Gurudwara’s of Chandigarh & Amritsar Sahib. They will also visit the historical Gurudwara’s of Tarantaran Sahib & Fatehgarh Sahib and will be back to Bangalore on 5th Nov.
This is a initiative taken by KSWS in association with Nishkaam, Delhi where in the students will come to know about different historical places and history of Sikhism.
Free Computer Education For Sikhs
Computer Education Division of "Electronics Corporation of India Limited(ECIL)" is providing free computer education to minorities in Karnataka. All the sikhs who meets the following criteria can join these courses.
- Age limit 18 years to 35 years.
- Minimum Qualification SSLC/10th Standard
- Annual Income of parents must be less than 2 lakh.
Gurmat Training Camp
Guru Gobind Singh Study Circle Karnataka State, in association with Sri Guru Singh Sabha and Karnataka Sikh Welfare Society, Bengaluru had organised a Gurmat Training Camp from 10th to 12th September 2010 at Gurdwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha, Halasuru, Bengaluru.
168 participants attended the camp aged between 10 years to 70 years. Prof. Santnam Singh Salopuri & Prof. Darshan Singh from Guru Gobind Singh Study Circle, Head Office Ludhiana were the main Speakers. It was 3 days full day training programme consists of lectures, presentations & interactive questionnaire sessions about Sikhism. Before closing ceremony a Gurmat quizz competition was organised where 5 teams had participated. The following topics were covered in the camp:

SIKH WELFARE SOCIETY TO RELEASE DIRECTORY
BANGALORE: Karnataka Sikh Welfare Society (KSWS) is coming out with a pocket directory
with the names, contact numbers and addresses of all Sikhs in Karnataka. Sikhs who
have come to Karnataka recently, can give their names by either filling the member’s
form or by sending an e-mail to kswsblr@gmail.com. The forms are available at KSWS
kiosk which is placed outside the Ulsoor Gurdwara every Sunday, a release informed.

KSWS, along with Nishkam Sikh Wefare Council (NSWC), New Delhi, are giving financial
support to Sikligar families of Karnataka.
Since August 2000, they have been working together at Bengaluru and other cities
of Karnataka to empower the Sikligar Sikhs (poor and disadvantaged people of the
Sikh community), who had worked for Tipu Sultan’s army and settled here, the release
stated.
